First built in 1934, the Norwalk Hydraulic Juice Press works by exerting hydraulic pressure in order to quickly and completely extract the natural fruit sugars, vitamins, trace minerals, enzymes, and other vital elements from fruits and vegetables. The Norwalk produces 50-100% more juice containing 3-5 times more vitamins and minerals than juice from other machines. This imparts a superior flavor quality to the juice unequaled by other methods of juice extraction.
Norwalk juices are expressed gently with a minimum of air mixed into the juice (very low oxidation). Therefore, our juices may be refrigerated in sealed containers for up to three days with little, if any, loss of color, flavor or vital nutrients.
The Norwalk Hydraulic Juice Press was designed by Dr. Norman W. Walker, a British businessman and pioneer in the field of vegetable juicing and nutritional health. An early advocate for drinking fresh raw vegetable and fruit juices to regain and maintain personal health, Dr. Walker was the author of several books on nutrition and healthy living. He opened the Norwalk Laboratories of Health Research in 1910 and became known as the leading expert in the field of raw juice therapy. He lived to be 99 years of age.
